En la Mira: Contemporary Latin American Video is a six-part film series, presenting 18 works from contemporary artists on view daily in the Haub Orientation Space
It seeks to interrupt normative representations of Latin American culture and resist the flattening effects of geopolitical, cultural, and aesthetic homogenization. Rather than proposing a unified narrative, En la mira stages moments of exposure by presenting monthly constellations of distinct yet resonant artistic perspectives. This exhibition positions that, as adopted by the artists on view, these perspectives unsettle the conventional boundaries that divide, for instance, past and present, land and nation, nature and technology. Invites viewers to reflect on how visual culture can reframe memory, disarticulate borders, and imagine new modes of being, seeing, and belonging.
