This Friday, May 15, Biznaga, Jou Morales’s first solo exhibition at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo y de las Culturas Oaxaqueñas, opens to the public.
Biznaga reflects on the ways in which we construct collective narratives, and on how fiction continues to be one of the most alive and transformative materials available to us to articulate, question, and tangibly shape our experience of the present.
The recent body of work has been rewound, mutated, and translated from fiction into material form through the medium of painting. Together, the pieces function as a space where speculation, memory, and imagination operate simultaneously, generating hybrid scenarios that oscillate between utopia, dystopia, and everyday life.
