What would be, for example, of the senses, the similarities or any form of power exercise. common destiny is an omen, an instance that opens, closes and magnetizes as a lock: a dream far from urbanization, the piece of land where someone claims to have been born, a briefcase for shoes in an avenue, a moment that defines what gives us luck and what doesn’t or when we observe a red candle until it completely melts. When would that destiny be? Where would one find that future reflected?

  • About Isla Flotante
Isla Flotante began as an artist-run space in 2012 that combined artists’ workshops, exhibition spaces and parties, so it soon became an important meeting and socializing space. It was also a focal point of the art scene in Buenos Aires due to its commitment to showcasing young and promising artists. In the following years, the gallery began to participate in international fairs which contributed to the exponential growth of the project. At the end of 2015, the gallery moved to a shed in the neighborhood of La Boca, during 2018 it occupied the premises of a former wine bottling factory from the 1960s, in the neighborhood of La Paternal. Since 2019 the gallery settled in the Retiro neighborhood in an old apartment from 1917.
